How do we take care of ourselves? We probably do it the same way we saw others do it. We might not have seen anyone do it at all. We may have watched people just take care of everyone and everything around them.
Coming home allows us to live more vibrantly so we can be of genuine service in the world.
When we forget about us, silence ourselves, and constantly rev up our engines, we just want to tap out, escape, and crumble. We run on empty or we don’t even run at all.
Coming home means we connect back into our heart and its wisdom that it has for us.
Our heart whispers wisdom to us but we must quiet down enough to hear it.
Then we need the courage to heed it.
Gathering on retreat with other like-minded souls gives us this courage and permission.
Permission is everything. We can know something intellectually but with permission we can take one step at a time to listen to our intuition.
To slow down. To love. To be creative. To feel our feelings.
It’s time to take the next step.
I use a unique method to bring us into our hearts which is my music. The powerful lyrics and resonant stories bring us into our emotional bodies. Once we are in this home, we feel loved, cared for, and we experience our truth.
We will write about our truth and what’s in our hearts, first and foremost so that we may learn what it feels like to come home and love ourselves again.
We gather and connect and then take all of this back to our lives.
We remember this coming home visit so that we might live more of it in our daily lives. It includes speaking up, getting honest, and using tools to express ourselves creatively.
It’s time to retreat to the heart.
